As part of Marist College Canberra’s ongoing response to the historical sexual abuse that took place at the College, a Liturgy of Lament was held at the College on Thursday 10 November 2016.
The Liturgy offered an opportunity at a local level for the College to take responsibility for its failings in response to past abuses, to apologise to victims and their families, and to make clear to all past, present and future members of the community our determination that such actions will never occur again.
The theme of the liturgy was ‘Bringing Light to the Darkness’. The College was pleased to welcome past and present members of the Marist Canberra community and friends of the College. A plaque was unveiled and blessed as part of the event.
