Traffic arrangements
Important reminder
The daily movement of over 1,700 students in and out of the College presents a significant safety issue for our community.
As such, it is essential that parents, students and staff are reminded of, and follow these instructions regarding traffic arrangements:
- Parents are reminded not to enter the College driveways (Gates 1 and 2) between 8.00am and 8.45am, and 3.00pm and 4.00pm as this causes difficulty for buses. Please follow all directions from any staff who may approach your vehicle.
- We strongly recommend parents use Biddlecombe Street for drop-off and pick-up. A drop-off/pick-up bay is also available in front of the school on Marr Street. If using this bay, please drive forward as space becomes available in order to allow vehicles to enter so as not to cause congestion on Marr Street or to affect bus access to Gate 1. Please note the ‘No Stopping’ signage that is posted on Marr Street.
- Junior School drop-off/pick-up is via Gate 3, where a drop-off/pick-up system is supervised directly by a Junior School Teacher. Please follow all directions from staff who may approach your vehicle.
- Please do not double-park on Marr Street. ACT Police and Transport Canberra supervisors monitor this area and can issue fines. Additionally, the pedestrian crossing on Marr Street is not to be used as a drop-off or pick-up point.
- Please respect the privacy and accessibility of the College’s neighbours in Marr Street. Do not park across their driveways, on their lawns or enter their properties. Boys should not walk through the unit complexes to meet parents, rather they should use the adjacent parkland and paths.
The safety of our community is paramount to all other concerns.
Following these requests assists in keeping our boys and our community safe.
