R U OK? A conversation could change a life. 

Thursday 8 September is R U OK? Day, a national day of action to remind Australians that every day is the day to ask 'are you ok?'.  

Marist students have again showcased and supported this important cause this year, with senior teams in the College's winter sporting clubs wearing the bright yellow R U OK? socks throughout the season, to raise awareness of the charity and its important message about checking in with friends and family.  

A Canberra Times news article has also acknowledged the wonderful efforts of Marist students in raising awareness and funds for R U OK? Day.

The ACTcent Concert showcases musical excellence from top performing senior music students. Marist has a strong musical tradition, which has seen performers chosen from the College each year. In 2022, Year 12 students Ben Rankin (guitar) and Jeremy Firth (saxophone) have been selected. Ben and Jeremy will perform with Year 11 music students Eric Firth (drums) and Joel Crispe (piano) in the Marist College Groove Club, directed by Mr Andrew Hackwill. 

The performance is open to the public with tickets to be announced soon.

A reminder to families that Scholastic Book Club Issue 6 has been distributed to Junior School students. All orders must be submitted online by this Friday 9 September. Please note: we cannot accept cash at this time.

A reminder to Year 12 families that due to the public holiday next week, Year 12 retreat will now take place in Week 1 of Term 4, from Tuesday 11 October to Wednesday 12 October. 

Updated information, including an updated information brochure has been emailed to all Year 12 parents. For further information please contact Student Faith Formation Coordinator Mr Nicholas Weir. 

A reminder to families that the new date for the College Walkathon is tomorrow Thursday 15 September. 

The Walkathon will commence just after midday, with students returning to the College before the end of Period 6.

A sincere thanks to the many parents, friends, relatives and neighbours who have shown their support by sponsoring the boys and donating to our four important causes. It’s not too late to donate! We are still welcoming sponsorship via the QR code on your son’s Pledge Card. 

The Uniform Shop will be open to the College Community during the October school holidays for regular trade, Click and Collect orders and uniform fittings.

A friendly reminder to families to inform the College if their son tests positive to COVID-19, either via a RAT or PCR test, or is a household contact.

Reports can be made to the College by emailing the College COVID notifications email address. A reply will then be sent from the College and it will provide a link to information on next steps, access to online learning and support, and absence reporting.

Please include in your report the name of your son, year level, House Group and date he tested positive or became a household contact.

This will greatly assist the College to effectively report on and manage COVID-19 within our community. 

Marist Canberra Football Club is delighted to announce that Marist College has qualified for the grand final in both age groups of the Capital Football Championship Series.

Please come along and cheer on these two talented teams, this Saturday, 10 September 2022. Both matches will be played at 2pm at Kambah District Playing Field #3, Kett St Kambah.

All students are requested to wear their College uniform so that we can demonstrate some true Marist support!

Registrations are now open for students who wish to play indoor hockey for the College during the 2022/23 summer season. Please visit the Marist Canberra Hockey Club website for details on how to register.
