Please make note of the following important dates: 

Friday 2 June: Champagnat Day Celebrations and College Walkathon. A reminder that as Mass is a formal occasion, students are expected to wear full winter uniform to school and bring a change of clothes for the Walkathon. For more information, please see the below articles.

Monday 5 June: Year 11 and 12 Exams begin.

Monday 12 June: King's Birthday Public Holiday. 

Wednesday 14 June: Last day of Term 2 for Years 11 and 12. 

Friday 23 June: Last day of Term 2 for Years 4 - 10. 

ACT school health have rescheduled Year 7 immunisations. They will now take place on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 May. The dosing schedule has changed, which means that only one round of immunisation is necessary from February 2023.

If for any reason your son must leave early (for an excursion or an appointment) he can come down to the venue earlier or on the alternate day. If your son misses his immunisation due to absence, you will receive a letter from ACT Health with details of how your son can be immunised at your GP of choice.

Winter Uniform Reminder – Term 2

As we prepare for Term 2 we ask that each family thoroughly check their sons winter uniform items in readiness for the change of uniform after the holidays.

During Terms 2 and 3 Marist students are required to wear their formal winter uniform, including their tie and College Blazer to school each day. The College PE jacket is not part of the formal winter uniform.

Our upcoming event 'An Evening of Dialogue' will create a space for respectful dialogue on what is needed for humanity to flourish. The night will consist of keynote speakers, a Q&A session and an opportunity for open discussion.

The Way of the Cross is a prayerful commemoration of Jesus Christ’s passion and death that takes place at Marist College on Good Friday, 7 April. Our Year 12 Marist Youth Ministry students portray the scenes, and as a community, we reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice. Beginning at 10.30am on the lawn outside the Junior School Hall, we will conclude our time together with a hot cross bun morning tea, finishing at about 12.00pm.

All are welcome to attend and take part in the Way of the Cross.

Please note that in the event of wet weather, The Way of the Cross will still go ahead. 

All are invited to attend this year’s Marian Lecture. Dr Medi Volpe will be speaking on 'A Revolution of Love and Tenderness'. Delivered online, this will be a great opportunity to connect with the broader Marist community and deepen our faith and understanding of this year’s theme. 

We will be hosting a group of people together at the College to share the wisdom and enjoy each other's company. If you would like to attend, please RSVP here.

The Marist Mother & Son Mass will be held in the Senior Hall this year, at 8.30am on Thursday 4 May. This is a great opportunity for mothers, grandmothers, past Marist mothers and mother figures to connect with their sons and our faith.

Mary Help of Christians will be conducting a program for children in Year 6 and above who wish to make their Confirmation this year. The program will be held in the church from 6.30 to 7.30 pm on Wednesdays, commencing on 3 May with a Parent Information Night. Enrolments are now open on the Qkr! app and website. Enrolment Applications Close this Friday  

Applications are now being accepted from current families who may be considering enrolling their son/s not already at the College into Years 4 – 12.

A reminder that applications for Years 4, 5, 6 and 7 need to be received no later than this Friday 26 May 2023 to be considered for enrolment starting in 2024.

We would also encourage current families to let any friends who may be interested in enrolment know that they can now apply online.

Important reminder for Year 6 and Year 10 families

A reminder that families with sons currently in Years 6 and 10 at the College do not need to re-enrol their son into Year 7 or Year 11.

Our expectation is that once a student is enrolled at the College, their enrolment will continue until the completion of their studies in Year 12.

The Annual Blue and Blue Dinner will be held this year on Friday 19 May at the National Arboretum Canberra. Invitations and details on how to book will be emailed to families later this week.

The term break is just around the corner. While many students are maximising the opportunities to borrow a variety of print books for the holidays, others have discovered the joy of eBooks and audiobooks. Marist College provides access to a huge digital library of these such books curated for primary and secondary students. 

To access the Marist digital library, students can click here and log in using their student ID. Students can also download the ePlatform by Wheelers app to their device to listen or read while on the go.

Due to late arrivals to school, buses leaving from the Hall interchange, will now be departing at 8.00am sharp.

The Marist Basketball Carnival is an event that brings together Marist schools from all over Australia to compete while also fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. This year, nineteen Australian Marist schools participated in the week-long event.
