Marist College Canberra's annual Way of the Cross will be taking place at the College at 10.30am on Good Friday 29 March. Please join us to commemorate the mysteries of the Crucifixion. This is always a beautiful opportunity for reflection and prayer in the context of our community.
Students and staff are encouraged to get creative and capture a photo responding to the 2024 theme ‘FIRST LIGHT, Reveal the Spirit’. Entries are due at the end of the Term 1 holidays.
Three divisions: Junior (Years 4 - 6), Senior (Years 7 - 12) and Staff
Prizes: $200 JBHIFI voucher for each division
Submissions: email an original digital file (.jpg less than 10mb) to mission@mcc.act.edu.au
Competition closes: 28 April 2024
What are you doing on 25 and 26 May? Could you benefit from a weekend featuring talks, personal testimonies, opportunities for discussion, and space to reflect? Since menALIVE commenced in 2003, thousands of Catholic men have been encouraged and inspired at weekends across Australia. Now, Mary Help of Christians Parish's menALIVE weekend is being organised in Pearce, conducted by experienced leaders from the men Alive Team. You can register here.
Phone enquiries can be directed to Mat Wolnicki 0438 446 489, Fr Emil 0414 523 036, or Adam Wojtonis 0422 212 881 or you can email Mat Wolnicki for further information.
A reminder to all Junior School families that the boys will be required to wear their winter uniform from the start of Term 2. Families are asked to check that their son has all the required winter uniform items before the start of the school term.
Junior boys have the option to wear their grey school shorts or trousers during Terms 2 and 3. Years 7-12 do not have this option.
During the colder months, Junior School boys are encouraged to have the College tracksuit to wear on their PE days.
The College beanie can be worn during Terms 2 and 3 instead of the Junior School bucket hat if the boys prefer. Please note that College sports beanies are not part of the formal school uniform.
Please note that the formal grey winter jumper and the sports tracksuit top are not interchangeable. The sports tracksuit jacket is not to be worn on formal uniform days and the woolen school jumper is not to be worn on PE days in Junior School.
Junior School boys are not required to have a House shirt for the 2024 school year.
Swimming
Good luck to our Junior School swimming squad who will compete at the South Weston carnival on Friday 5 April at Stromlo Pool. Boys are to arrive at least 30 minutes before their first event.
School Sport ACT
A reminder for parents to monitor the School Sport ACT website for representative trial dates, locations and costs across a variety of sports. For boys wishing to gain higher sporting honours, the pathway is often through sports provided by SSACT. Click on the Sports tab across the top of the page, then select your preferred sports.
12&U Rugby League, Australian Football and Softball Trials
Trials will be held in May for the 12&U ACT Rugby League, Australian Football and Softball teams. Information can be found on the SSACT website listed above for these sports.

College Open Day
The 2024 College Open Day will be held on Friday 5 April over two sessions between 4.30pm to 7.00pm. This is a great opportunity for families to meet our teaching staff, speak with our co-curricular club coordinators, learn about the importance of service within our community, and meet current students to hear about their personal Marist journey.
As spaces are limited, please encourage any friends or family to register as soon as possible.
Open Day - Session 1 - 5 April 2024 4.30pm
Open Day - Session 2 - 5 April 2024 5:30pm
Enrolments now open
Applications are now being accepted from current families who may be considering enrolling their son/s not already at the College into Years 4 – 12.
A reminder that applications for Years 4, 5, 6 and 7 need to be received no later than Friday 31 May 2024 to be considered for enrolment starting in 2025.
We would also encourage current families to let any friends who may be interested in enrolment know that they can now apply online.
If you have any questions about enrolment, please read our FAQ's and timeline or contact the College Registrar.
Important reminder for Year 6 and Year 10 families
A reminder that families with sons currently in Years 6 and 10 at the College do not need to re-enrol their son into Year 7 or Year 11.
Our expectation is that once a student is enrolled at the College, their enrolment will continue until the completion of their studies in Year 12.
The Uniform Shop will be open to the school community during the April school holidays.
