You may recall our ‘Sowing Seeds of Hope’ project supporting Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS) in partnership with the Marist College Garden Club. A group of students and staff have continued this planting project and over 20 trays of seedlings, vegetables, and herbs are now at various stages of growth in the Marist College Greenhouse. This has been a fertile journey to an integral ecology commitment among members and students at Marist College. We will be offering this produce to raise awareness about sustainability and stewardship at coming events. Please support us by making a gold coin donation to AMS and receiving nutritious plant in return. You can find our plant offerings and donation box outside the Marist College Mission Centre, Oratory, and Chapel during Term 4.
To conclude the year, members of the Marist Association and friends, are warmly invited to join Rodney’s Plants Plus in Pialligo to celebrate 50 years planting seeds of hope in the Canberra community. This twilight birthday extravaganza will occur on Thursday 21 November from 6–9pm. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated towards Marist College and AMS projects in the Asia-Pacific region. Our partnership with Rodney’s is a special opportunity for Association members and friends to gather and share fellowship at a respected family nursery and community event and enjoy great savings on summer plants too! 21 November also marks the Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a special day for our Marist family. Limited tickets are available to Association members, friends, and the College community. Bring along a friend!
Please indicate your interest in pre-sale tickets by emailing brendanbergin@mcc.act.edu.au before Thursday 31 October.
