Marist fathers, grandfathers and carers, past and present, and their sons are warmly invited to celebrate Mass to acknowledge the special role you have in shaping the lives of your sons/grandsons.

The Mass will be held in the Senior Hall from 8.30am on Friday 1 September.

Parking is limited on College grounds so please look at options in the surrounding streets.

At the conclusion of Mass, the boys will move to class. Fathers and grandfathers are welcome to stay for a cuppa. There is no need for the boys to sign in for school if you have registered your son/sons as attending the Mass.

Places are limited, please register as soon as possible. 

Mura Gadi at Marist College – Pathways for Searching 

Our Mura Gadi event for Term 3 is coming up on the evening of Tuesday 5 September. These events are designed to be opportunities for students and adults us to listen to input on a specific topic, engage in table conversations and a participate in a Q&A with the speaker. The goal is to inform, form, provoke and stimulate.

Our guest this term is Mr Michael Cooney and he will be addressing the topic: Truth or lies? How to work out what's real in the age of disinformation - and how to be an informed citizen in election years and referendum campaigns.

Michael is a writer and adviser who has worked in government, campaigns and think tanks for thirty years. He was speechwriter to Prime Minister Julia Gillard AC from 2010-2013 and his book The Gillard Project was published by Penguin in 2015. Michael is now General Manager Public Affairs at Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, based in Melbourne and returns home to Canberra as often as he can.

The College’s 2023 AMS Appeal is closing at the end of the week. We are supporting two projects: Chetana Tribal Boys Hostel, Talit, West Bengal and St Joseph’s School, Mabiri, Bougainville.

Marist College Canberra and the Marist College Canberra Old Boys Association are pleased to welcome Old Boys from 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2013 to our second annual Super Reunion. Please join us for a BBQ, refreshments and school tours this Saturday from 12.00pm.

The reunions offer a wonderful opportunity for Old Boys to reunite, reconnect and reminisce about years past. 

Congratulations to Jovern Loh (Year 7) and Marcus Smith (Year 7) who are representing the ACT at the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships in Sydney in their respective 13/O and 12/U age groups between 21 - 29 August 2023.

Congratulations also to College Swimming Captain Armand Rood (Year 12) who was recently awarded Swimming ACT 2023 Age Champion (17 years).

The following JPL Basketball games are being held in Marcellin Hall on Friday 25 August 2023. Please come along and cheer on our basketball players.

Time is running out to register for the 2023 - 2024 season. Registrations close at the end of August to allow time for trials and team placement.

Boys not at Marist in Year 3 or Year 6 (or other years) who gain enrolment for next year are encouraged to play for Marist this coming season.
