For Semester 2, the Year 11 Drama class have formed The Marist Curtain Call Theatre Company as part of their theatre production unit. All students have taken on a leadership production role and are creating, directing, producing, designing and acting in their chosen play, The One Act Play That Goes Wrong. They have been working for weeks in the pre-production phase in preparation for the play, which will take place next week on Thursday 19 October 19 and Friday 20 October. Please come and support this talented and hard-working group of Senior Students.
THE ONE ACT PLAY THAT GOES WRONG: Get ready for a night of mix-ups, mischief and mishaps! The opening night of The Marist Curtain Call Theatre company’s, The One Act Play That Goes Wrong, hits the stage for two nights only! The play features the rag-tag Cornley Drama Society who try to pull together their newest production. “The Murder at Haversham Manor.” This 1920s classic whodunit, quickly falls apart as unconscious actors, failing props and energetic “dead people” steal the show. How will this group of amateur actors respond? Will they make it to the final Curtain Call?
Find out on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 October at 6.00 pm! This play is suitable for all ages, and we would love to have many Junior School families in attendance!

Parents, Old Boys and Carers are invited to be part of the development of a wellbeing curriculum framework based on Marist College Canberra’s approach to Forming Fine Young Men.
As parents and carers of our current Marist Boys or Old Boys we would value your input and support in creating the Forming Fine Young Men framework.
The parent workshop will explore the notion of a fine young man, central to both the Respectful Relationships project and the wellbeing framework which will be implemented in 2024. The workshop will be an opportunity to explore, define, and develop the notion of forming fine young men within our Marist community, and identify key themes or concepts that will form the focus of explicit lessons in 2024.

Time: 6.00pm - 7.30pm

Navigating Term 4 with Style!
Hot and dry El Niño afternoons, HA! What better way to refresh after period 6 in the classroom than to set sail on our beloved Lake Burley Griffin.
Whether you're new to sailing or a seasoned sailor, you're in for a fantastic time. The Marist-Merici Sailing Club is your gateway to learning the ropes or fine-tuning your race skills. We offer introductory sessions on Wednesdays and race strategy training on Thursdays after school.
At the helm, you'll find the YMCA Sailing Club, which not only provides all equipment but also expert guidance in preparing our teams for thrilling Australian Teams racing competitions. Our collective aim this season is to hoist our sails high at the Nationals, and to make that happen, we're counting on passionate new members like you to join our crew.
Marist College and Merici College have joined forces for several years now, fostering a partnership that not only enhances your skills but also expands your circle of friends. All this happens in a safe and fun environment. The estimated cost for the weekly program is $290 and includes transport and all sundries. On training days, simply pack your swimsuit, rash guard, towel, well-worn sneakers, and a generous helping of adventure.
No specific fitness level is required, as sailing is all about inclusivity, strategy, precise timing, teamwork, and effective communication. And as a bonus, our team spices up the training routine with celebratory events and leisurely sailing outings.
