Marist College is committed to offering immersion opportunities to our students. These are extraordinary opportunities to walk alongside people from another culture, learning from them and sharing experiences.
In 2023 we are partnering with Catholic Mission to offer an immersion experience to the Tiwi Islands and Darwin during the July school holidays.
Expressions of interest are being sought from current Year 10 students and the selection process consists of a written application addressing the selection criteria. For details of the selection process, students and their parents are referred to the email sent at the end of last term.

Students require a robust music education to optimally achieve their physical, emotional and cognitive potential as holistic learners who are sensitive to the needs of others.
Students at our College have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument through our Private Instrumental and Vocal lesson program in 2023.
People who study music:
Our aim is to encourage maximum participation in our community for children at all levels of ability, and to instill a culture of growth, attention to detail, focus and self-discipline.

On Thursday 15 September students from Years 4 - 12 took on the rain, the mud and the hills to complete the Marist College Canberra 2022 Walkathon. Despite the inclement weather there was much joy, camaraderie and goodwill on everyone's faces.
This year, thanks to the huge efforts from our students and the incredible support from families, friends, neighbours and other sponsors, the 2022 Walkathon raised over $93,000!
During Senior School assembly on Friday 14 October the College was delighted to present a cheque for $20,000 to Anne Kirwan from CatholicCare to support the important work of Mackillop House Canberra.
The remaining funds raised will be distributed between our three other important causes - Australian Marist Solidarity, the Trinity College Lismore Flood Appeal, and the Br Mark May Bursary Program.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and made these generous donations possible.
The College Walkathon would not be possible without the support of many parent volunteers and local sponsors.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many parent volunteers who, on the original Walkathon day and despite the weather, assisted with the BBQ, ensuring our hungry students were well fed.
We would also like to thank those parent volunteers who helped at a stamp or check points during on the rescheduled Walkathon day. The weather was not perfect for the Walkathon and our volunteers worked tirelessly to have all the stamp cards stamped at the five stamp points.
Please know how grateful we are for sharing your time with us and please know that if this is your son’s last year at Marist, you are still always very welcome to come back again in 2023!
A big thank you also goes out to the following businesses who donated prizes, made donations and sponsored Stamp Points:
The prizes donated from these businesses were awarded to our Walkathon major prize winners. Congratulations to all of the students below who have now received their prizes!
