With over 2.9 million Australians living below the poverty line, including over half a million children, your support of the Vinnies Winter Appeal will provide much needed immediate help to people in our community.
This year, we are again asking members of the Marist Community to join us in making a difference to peoples’ lives by making donations of warm blankets, jumpers, socks, gloves and other winter-related clothing that are new or in very good condition.
We are also asking for non-perishable food and any hygiene related items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant.
These items can be donated in identified boxes located in House Deans’ offices until this Friday, 17 June.
For Junior School families, items can be donated in identified boxes located in Learning Space 15 until this Friday, 17 June.
Marist Vinnies group would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and your kind donations.
The online page for Year 12 students to be able to order their Year 12 Jerseys is live.
Year 12 students will need to attend Mrs Mahar’s office in the Student Hub to ensure they have the correct size prior to ordering.
Please note: the final date for purchase is this Friday, 24 June.
Several members of our Marist Justice and Solidarity and Stewardship Service group are currently participating in a “Ration Challenge’.
For five days, the students are only eating what a Syrian refugee does in order to raise money and awareness for those displaced by conflict or disaster.
Each student has been provided with a small rations box from Act for Peace, an international charity organisation that started the Challenge in 2014.

Our deepest sympathy is extended to Simon Brown (Hospitality and Food Technology Assistant) and family on the passing of Simon’s father, Paul Brown.
Please keep the Brown family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Recently, the College was the recipient of a thoughtful and touching gift from Meg Burch, mother of Jude (2019) and Felix (Year 11, 2020) Henderson-Burch.
The commissioned drawing of Mary was in appreciation of the wonderful care that Meg believed her sons had received 'every day' they were at Marist. Michael Stinziani, Dean of Lavalla House, to which the boys belonged, was on hand to receive the drawing and will make sure an appropriate place is found for it to be displayed.
We love to read in ELS!
We would love to remind all Junior School boys that they can get out of the cold in the mornings, anytime between 8.00am and 8.30am on Tuesday-Friday mornings in the ELS Building, to read quietly.
This is also a good way of helping your son get in his 15 minutes of reading time that is recommended for each day.
See you there!
