Book Week Celebrations
Dressing up as a book character is a fun event that celebrates the joy of reading and brings stories to life. By dressing up, students get to explore their favourite characters and genres in a fun, creative way while sharing their love of books with their peers.
We invite all students to participate in our Book Character Dress Up Day. This year, we are encouraging students to choose from one of two options:
Come dressed as a character from your favourite book. Students can choose to bring a copy of their favourite book, but this is not compulsory.
Come dressed in the colour that matches your favourite genre. Our Junior Library is organised by colour-coded genres. The colours are as follows:
Contemporary / Real Life Stories
Pink
Crime, Intrigue and Action
Orange
Historical Fiction
Purple
Horror
Red
Humour
Yellow
Science Fiction & Fantasy
Green
Sports Stories
Blue
Non-Fiction
Black & White
This option is particularly helpful for those students who cannot choose just one favourite book or character!
Students will have the opportunity to share why they enjoyed their favourite book or why they love that specific genre.
Upcoming Author Visit – Jack Heath
The Library team are excited to be hosting author Jack Heath as part of Book Week celebrations. Jack will visit the Junior School on Monday 26 August.
One of the fantastic benefits of an author visit is the enthusiasm generated for reading their books. One way to support this enthusiasm is through providing a copy of Jack Heath’s books for your son. The Library has multiple copies of each of Jack Heath’s books for students to borrow. You are also able to pre-order a copy from the Book Cow. Pre-ordered books will be delivered to the school for Jack to sign on 26 August.
If you would like to pre-order a book, please click here.
This is the your last chance to secure your spot for next week’s Mothers and Grandmothers Afternoon Tea! Enjoy High Tea and drinks prepared and served by our Senior Hospitality students, and hear from our guest speaker, Genevieve Jacobs AM.
