What's On - 10 August 2022

There will again be a social justice focus to this year’s Walkathon, with funds raised going towards four important causes:

• Catholic Care – Mackillop House
• Australian Marist Solidarity Appeal
• Trinity College Lismore Flood Appeal 
• Br Mark May Bursary Fund.  

Our thanks to all of those boys and families that have been working on their Walkathon pledges.

The Art Department are proud to present our Student Art, Photography and Graphic Design Exhibition for Semester One 2022.

This online Exhibition showcases some of the outstanding work by our talented students in Years 7 to 12. The works range from painting, ceramics, and wire sculpting, through to photography, digital art and more.

The College is pleased to announce an incredible opportunity for these students to travel abroad, strengthen their language skills, discover one of the greatest ancient civilisations, and learn to cook (and eat!) some amazing cuisine.

The Language and Food Tour of Italy will run through the September - October school holidays in 2023.

Congratulations to our Junior School boys who participated in the Jack Steele AFL Tournament in Week 3. The College was represented by two teams. Marist 1 won the Tournament and have been invited to participate in the Paul Kelly State finals in Sydney. Marist 2 lost its semi-final yet accounted itself well. 

Thank you to Mr Welsh and Mr Henry for accompanying the boys to the Jack Steele competition.

Sebastian Arranz (Year 11) who has been selected in the ACT Under 18 Schoolboys Football team competing in August.

Patrick Iles (Year 12) who has been selected as a member of the Australian Schoolboys A Rugby team that will tour Japan in late September.

Vincent Lim (Year 7) who was selected to represent the ACT Secondary Schools Table Tennis Championships 2022 in early August. 

Jude Leech (Year 5) who has been selected in the ACT AFL Under 12s National Schools Championships which are being held in Adelaide in August.

Kian O’Connor (Year 4) who will be competing at the SSA Nationals in Brisbane in August.

The 2022 Under 15 Boys National AFL Championships took place recently in Albury with Marist represented by eight Year 9 students selected in the ACT team.

The best young footballers in the country participated in the competition and it provided a fantastic opportunity to play against strong and talented opposition.

The boys return to Club Football with new-found skills, determination and energy coming into the final’s series.
