Canvas information for Parents

All parents now have the ability to view their son’s courses in Canvas, the College’s Learning Management System.

To Access Canvas as a parent
Go to https://maristc.instructure.com and sign in using YOUR user id and password issued by the College. This is the same User ID and Password used to access the MNet Portal, Semester Reports and book Parent Teacher interviews. 

As a parent in Canvas, you can view most of the material available to your son through his courses - including class resources, assignments and events, however you cannot submit work on his behalf. Whilst you will have a broad overview of the general course, you cannot participate in all course areas. For example, in some instances, teachers will link or embed resources from third-party platforms which you will not be able to access due to licensing or similar restrictions.

The Dashboard and the Calendar 

The landing page of Canvas is known as the Dashboard. You will have access to a number of course tiles with the label “Observing:” followed by the name of your son. The other area of particular interest to you as a parent will be the Calendar. The due dates for assignments and other tasks across his courses will be advertised there as they are scheduled. If you have more than one son at the College, you can filter your view of the calendar for each boy.
