A group of 40 staff and students have recently returned from an unforgettable trip as part of the Marist European History Tour. Over the course of two weeks, the group explored some of the most significant historical landmarks across Europe, deepening their understanding of global history.

The tour began with a whirlwind of experiences, including visits to the historical landmarks of Munich and Dachau Concentration Camp, a European football match, an adventure into a salt mine, and a tour of the medieval Salzburg castle in Austria. In Nuremberg, the boys toured the Second World War Trial Court, the Art Bunker, and the remnants of the Nazi parade grounds, giving them an in-depth look at the aftermath of the war.

The second half of the tour took the group to Berlin, where they delved into the history of the Second World War and the Cold War. From there, they travelled to Belgium and France to analyse the impacts of the Great War, visiting gravesites of the relatives of some of our boys. The trip concluded with a weekend in Paris, where students had the chance to reflect on all they had learnt and experienced.A huge thank you to the staff who organised and accompanied the boys on the tour, ensuring it was an enriching and memorable experience for everyone involved.
