2. Apply to Enrol

To apply to enrol, complete the online application for enrolment.

Be sure to supply the requested documentation and pay the Application for Enrolment fee so that your application can be processed.

Although you can apply at any time, applications are not reviewed by the Headmaster until the enrolment period (April – May) prior to the commencement year. We do not waitlist more than one year ahead.

After you submit your application, you will have access to an online Parent Dashboard where you can check the progress of your application.

Following the Headmaster’s review, interviews are held for invited families with a senior member of staff. It’s important to note that an interview does not guarantee an offer.

Written notification of the success or otherwise of your application will be provided via email.

Please contact the College Registrar with any questions you might have throughout the enrolment process.

3. Offers, Acceptance, and Waitlists

Marist College Canberra welcomes applications from families seeking a Catholic education for their son(s) whose family values, spiritual and educational aspirations are congruent with that of the College.

The College will make offers to applicants, subject to interviews and assessment, taking into consideration the following criteria until all places in each year group are full. In order of priority, consideration is given to:

  1. Boys who are baptised Catholic and currently enrolled in Catholic schools
  2. Boys who are baptised Catholic and currently enrolled in other schools
  3. Boys who are non-Catholic but currently enrolled in Catholic schools
  4. Boys who are non-Catholic and currently enrolled in other schools.

Special consideration may also be given to:

  • Siblings of current students at date of application
  • Siblings and children of Old Boys of Marist College
  • Children with Marist affiliations and interstate transfers from other Marist schools.

Criteria may be used at the discretion of the Headmaster in determining offers and acceptance of enrolment.

The College also reserves the right to alter the Enrolment Policy from time to time.

A review of the student enrolment policy is undertaken annually or earlier if required. This student enrolment policy was last reviewed: 9 November 2023.

If an offer of enrolment is made, families are required to complete the Acceptance of Enrolment form and other relevant documents to finalise the enrolment. This must be received by the College by the date specified in the Offer of Enrolment Letter along with the non-refundable Acceptance of Enrolment fee. In accepting the offer, the College is under the assumption that all parents and legal guardians of the applicant are aware that this application was lodged and any signatory to the Acceptance of Offer accepts responsibility for payment of all fees and charges.

Completed Acceptance of Enrolment forms not received by the specified date may be withdrawn and the place offered to an applicant on the waitlist.

If the College assesses an applicant suitable for enrolment, but is unable to offer a place due to limited vacancies, the Headmaster, at his discretion, may offer applicants in writing the opportunity to be placed on a waitlist for current year enrolment.

Applicants who are unsuccessful will be notified in writing from the Headmaster's Office.
