Role of Marist Youth Ministry Team
"God's project needs lively young people who will give themselves completely to the struggle for the transformation of our world" St Marcellin Champagnat
The Senior Youth Ministry Team is made up of a core group of Year 12 students at Marist who help develop and enhance the faith life of the College Community by leading and facilitating catechesis sessions, prayer experiences, youth ministry events and special assemblies and services. The group is part of the Mates Service program and also is accredited as an R unit.
Senior Youth Ministry Team members should be open to:
- deepening their understanding of what it means to be a Disciple of Jesus
- furthering their relationship with God through prayer, reflection and reading of the scriptures
- witnessing the Good News of Jesus through their daily life and actions in this College community, especially to their peers and younger students – being peer role models
- developing YM skills which assist them to lead presentations, facilitate small groups, skills in drama, music, multi-media presentations, sharing personal reflections.
