Junior School

Code of Conduct

Within each class a set of 'Class Rules' or 'Class Rights and Responsibilities' is established. These encourage a cooperative atmosphere which values the individuality of class members, both within and beyond the classroom. A General Code of Conduct is regularly reinforced with the students of the Junior School.

Student Leadership

The Junior School offers leadership roles in the form of School captain and vice-captains and Colour House captains and vice-captains. Each class also has three sets of Captains and Vice-Captains during the year. These leadership roles encourage good example, special duties, responsibility and representation. Parents are invited to induction ceremonies.

Awards Program

One Thursday Assembly each month is an Awards Assembly where boys from each class are recognised and awarded for their achievements. Such awards recognise the attainment of personal academic goals, excellence or improvement in a particular area. Parents of award recipients are invited to this Assembly.

A Marcellin Award is also presented to a class member who has demonstrated care for others in the spirit of a Christian community. The Awards Assembly supports the continued reinforcement of achievement, good behaviour and efforts in the classroom.

Counsellor

A Centacare Counsellor is available in the Junior School one day each week and is available to discuss any concerns or difficulties being experienced by individual boys. Appointments may be made through the Junior School Office.

Any counselling which takes place with a student requires the prior agreement of parents.
